JCPS Substitute Teachers
Individuals wishing to serve as a substitute teacher with Jones County Public Schools must meet the following requirements:
Associates Degree or equivalent semester hours from an accredited institution of higher education
Complete Effective Teacher Training (applicant's expense)
Completed Drug Test (applicant's expense)
Nationwide Criminal Record Check (district's expense)
Completed Health Examination Certificate
Individuals wishing to serve as a substitute in a Pre-K classroom must meet the requirements listed above plus the following:
CPR/First Aid Certification
Finger Print Card completed by the Sheriff's office
State criminal record check processed by Dept. of Health and Human Services
