A child must be 5 years old on or before August 31 of the current school year to attend kindergarten. In accordance with state law, gifted children who are age 4 by April 16 also will be considered for admission. 

Contact the elementary school your child will attend to schedule a registration time. You will need the following documents:

• child's social security card

• certified copy of your child's birth certificate

• your child's immunization record

• a completed kindergarten health assessment form (which is available at the health department and elementary schools)

• proof of residency (i.e. current utility bill, lease, tax bill, property deed)
