Parents, JCPS is excited about our upcoming school year. Here is a copy of the 2021-22 school calendar. Students' first day back on their campuses is August 23rd, 2021.
Come join us for the Jones County “Back to School Bash”, Sat. July 31st.
It will be 9am-1pm at Jones Senior High School Gym.
This event will donate 300 new backpacks, and healthy snacks to Jones County Students K-12. Supplies are limited, come early! Additionally, we have the Jones County Health Department attending, and the Lions Club Mobile Vision center to provide free vision screenings. We also have a host of local businesses, community partners, and non-profits providing information and free giveaways.
We also have supplies to provide free lunches for first 400 attendees, both parents and students are welcome. We also plan to have some games, and some fun events on the grounds for the kids.
All students will be registered for a Gift Card Drawing for local retailers that can be used for school supplies, clothing, or essentials. This drawing will take place after the event and students will be notified where to pick up their gift cards.
Again, this is for all Jones County Students K-12.

On June 29th, the JCPS Board of Education voted to move the entirety of the 6th grade to Jones Senior High School. All elementary schools in the district will now be PreK through 5th grade.
The purpose of this move is to unify the grade spans within the district, provide a streamlined approach to our middle school academic program to better prepare our students for success in high school, and provide a better opportunity for 6th grade students to participate in middle school athletics.
Additional information will be forthcoming regarding this transition.
